Lilli sees things no one else does.

Desperate to make sense of the dreams and visions that have plagued her since childhood, Lilli confides in Devin, her closest friend, and the boy she’s fallen for.

Instead of questioning her sanity, Devin confesses to secrets of his own, which are far darker. His revelations about magic, witches and demons stun Lilli. But it’s what he knows about Lilli’s mother, long believed to be dead, that leaves her feeling betrayed. Despite her anger, Lilli will have to learn to trust Devin again, because he is the only one who can protect her from a dark danger that’s coming for her from a world away.

My Review:

I am a reader. I read a lot of books by week and still I can barely keep up with the books I receive. I may not manage to answer all the requests in time but I do my best. My point is that since I read this much, is difficult for me to say that I have a favorite author. Well, that was valid since some …books ago, when I was lucky enough to discover Teresa Roman. This is the second book I am honored to review that is written by her and I am telling you she is my favorite author. I don’t know, she has a way to reach my heart with her simple words that few authors managed to do. The ones that did, managed to do it (most of them) with one book. She did it with two. That’s something.

So here I am, reviewing “Daughter of Magic”. Not to my surprise, I loved the story, I loved the writing and I loved the way it covered the human aspects of life, but also the life of witches. We can see how humans and witches deal with silly aspects like food or traveling, but also family, death, friendship and love. This gave me a balanced picture, since I managed to see two worlds in parallel.

Since this is an honest review, I can also tell you that the book mainly focuses on Lilli’s relationship with Devin, and less on her development in witchcraft. I do hope the book will have a follow-up with a powerful Lilli, ready to face demons and dark magic. This is my one star less.

Other than that and with the risk of repeating myself, I tell you that I absolutely LOVE Teresa Roman’s books. They are close to my heart and hope to read more from her. Till next review, try and look her up, check her books (“Daughter of Magic” included) and come back and tell me what you thought.
