 Author BioAnnaLores

Anna started writing romance as a by-product of insomnia. After a year of late night reading, she borrowed her son’s laptop after he went to bed each night, and set about breathing life to her very own characters. After a month of writing in the middle of the night, she was surprised with a new laptop of her own to pursue her dreams. With a B.A. in English Literature and a desire to fill her world with wonderful stories she and her close friends could not just talk about, but gush over, she shed her job as mom of three in the late night hours and assumed her alter ego of dirty girl.

My review:

First of all, I did not read the first book, so it was a little hard for me to understand the full depth of Ava’s trauma.  After being abused by her husband and abandoned (or so she believes) by her son’s father, she finds shelter next to her best friend Brady. He tries to get her help she needs to recover physically and emotionally from the pain he inflicted on her in their Dom-Sub relationship. They soon discover they have long wished for one another as more than friends and let the passion take control.

In my honest opinion, the character was too fragile and overreacted in some moments. I also believe her attraction to other men except her boyfriend was again exaggerated. I had difficulties understanding her issues. She was constantly surrounded by men – either bodyguards, potential Doms, husband, boyfriend, father of the son. Too many men were there to tend to her needs and she still felt insecure. This was a little weird.

There were too many issues that were not to my liking, but I still managed to finish the book. So taking this into account and also the fact I skipped most of the story, I’ll go with three stars. Overall, the story was not that bad and Ava’s trauma was very well presented by the author. I do recommend you however to read the first book.
